Synopsis:
Beauty and the Beast meets Taming of the Shrew in this laugh-out-loud and heartfelt Regency romance.
Lord Nathaniel Harte, the disagreeable Duke of Beswick, spends his days smashing porcelain, antagonizing his servants, and snarling at anyone who gets too close. With a ruined face like his, it’s hard to like much about the world. Especially smart-mouthed harpies—with lips better suited to kissing than speaking—who brave his castle with indecent proposals.
But Lady Astrid Everleigh will stop at nothing to see her younger sister safe from a notorious scoundrel, even if it means offering herself up on a silver platter to the forbidding Beast of Beswick himself. And by offer, she means what no highborn lady of sound and sensible mind would ever dream of—a tender of marriage with her as his bride.
My Review:
5/5
I really loved this book. This is the first adult romance book I have read from Amalie but I have read most of her YA books. She is so good at writing such snarky characters! Like wow. I loved Astrid, she was such a dynamic character with a very distinct goal in mind. I really can’t wait to read the next book in this which follows Astrid’s sister. I did read this book in 2 hours which was amazing lol See below for my spoilery thoughts!

Are you gone? Perfect!
THIS BOOK! While I did think it started a bit slow once Astrid went to meet the famed Beast of Beswick it got gooood fast! The dynamic between her and Nathaniel was just *chefs kiss* so good. I think that the sexual attraction between the two of them definitely drove them forward as a couple but by the end that sweet scene where they realized they did love each other and should stay together. I also really loved Astrid’s sister and can’t wait to get more from her because she seems so cunning compared to Astrid. Like damn girl set up a whole marriage just for herself behind everyone’s backs AND kept it from Astrid!
