Please note that there is abuse, rape, gore, incest (though it’s not normalized or accepted).
I did like the creepy elements of the story but what knocked it down for me were the abusive-incesty relationship and rape. Sarah does a great job though with the horror which I appreciated. Her language and sentence structure is also gorgeous which made the book a treat to read regardless! Overall I would recommend this to horror fans who don’t mind a few strong topics.

SARAH PORTER is the author of the Lost Voices Trilogy (Lost Voices, Waking Storms, The Twice Lost) in addition to Vassa in the Night—all for the teen audience. A Bookish Dream 
I think I rated this book 3 stars I cannot remember. I enjoyed it but it left me very confused and thrown about. I like the dark elements and inclusive themes, but I wished overall I had enjoyed the book
